Chief Executive Officer
Steve Mitzel joined Mspark in September 2015 as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Mspark, Steve was President of C Street Solutions, a Suffield, Conn.,-based consulting firm that he founded in November 2014.
Before that, he worked 14 years at Valassis Communications, Livonia, Mich., in various executive-level roles of increasing responsibility culminating in General Manager/Senior Vice President – Shared Mail. In this position, Steve had P&L responsibility for a $1.4 billion direct mail division that contributed 90% of profit and 65% of revenue for the entire company. Earlier in his career, he served in finance and accounting roles at Dynamis Solutions, Farmington Hills, Mich.; SmithGroup, Detroit, Mich.; and PricewaterhouseCoopers, Detroit, Mich.
Steve holds both an MBA and bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich. He is a proud member of the board of directors of the Dear Jack Foundation, one of several charitable organizations tied to his philanthropic efforts towards cancer prevention, awareness and treatment.
Greg Bogich joined Mspark in October 2014 as Senior Vice President, National Sales, with more than 30 years of sales and marketing expertise in traditional and digital media, strategy development and execution, revenue generation, customer segmentation and acquisition, sales process reengineering, business development and organizational change.
He has successfully led large teams while working with some of the world’s leading advertisers across multiple industries, including consumer packaged goods, retail, food service, telecommunications and direct response.
Prior to Mspark, Greg worked for Livonia, Mich.-based Valassis Communications, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, Digital Media. Also at Valassis Communications, he was Vice President, New Business Development, and before that, Director, Retail Marketing. Greg has also held senior management roles at Pittsburgh, Pa.-based companies Market Place Print, a media-buying agency owned by ad agency MARC USA, and J. Edward Connelly Associates, a privately owned sales and marketing conglomerate.
Greg currently serves on the board of the Global Retail Marketing Association (GRMA) and is a member of AAM/CAC. He is also a former featured speaker at the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) Marketing Conference, NAA Publishers’ Conference, Retail Advertising Conference, PMA and DMA. Greg attended Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich.
Tom Caprio is Vice President, Local Sales, at Mspark with responsibility for the development and successful execution of the company’s local market sales strategies for driving incremental, profitable revenue and generating growth in verticals and products.
He leads the local sales, inside sales, and sales development teams. Tom joined Mspark in January 2014 as Director, Corporate Sales Development. In November 2014, he was promoted to Director, Local Sales – Southeast, the position he held prior to his current role.
Tom has more than 25 years of experience in sales management, sales development, and marketing and has held a variety of senior-level positions in the direct mail and digital media space, including roles with Cox Target Media/Valpak, Largo, Fla.; Newark Electronics, Hanover, Md.; and First Class Marketing, Carlsbad, Calif. In addition, he was the former CEO/Owner for 12 years of Meyer Associates, St. Cloud, Minn., a 450-person, B2B direct marketing advertising agency specializing in customer contact centers, digital media and direct mail. A graduate of State University of New York at Potsdam (SUNY Potsdam), Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.
Lori Sigler is Chief Financial Officer at Mspark with responsibility for the company’s accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, accounts payable, billing, payroll, and credit and collections functions.
She joined Mspark in February 2013 as Corporate Controller and, in December 2016, was promoted to her current role.
Prior to Mspark, Lori held various positions of increasing responsibility in her field most recently serving as Controller at Atherotech, Inc., a private, equity-backed company headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. She is a cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., where she earned both a Master of Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.
Darrell Edwards joined Mspark in December 2009 and currently serves as Chief Marketing & Customer Officer. Darrell has more than 30 years of executive-level experience in domestic and international marketing programs and services, including specific expertise in all facets of multi-channel marketing using modeling and analytics for customer acquisition and loyalty program marketing.
Prior to Mspark while working as a consultant with Trivergence Business Solutions (Trivergence), his most recent assignment was with a major, international automobile manufacturer where he developed, implemented and led the direct-to-consumer and call center marketing operation for its newly designed roadside safety and personal concierge service program. Before Trivergence, Darrell held roles with such companies as Cosmetique, Vernon Hills, Ill.; Response Media, Norcross, Ga.; MarketTouch, Alpharetta, Ga.; HCI Direct, Bensalem, Pa.; and Reader’s Digest, Pleasantville, N.Y., and he has worked with numerous well-known brands, including Procter & Gamble, Disney, AT&T, Citibank, ServiceMaster and the National Association of Realtors. In additional senior-level marketing positions, he designed and directed a variety of substantial marketing programs on behalf of major companies and SMB’s using his extensive experience in modeling and analytics applied to direct-to-consumer marketing.
Darrell attended Loyola College, Baltimore, Md., where he earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and business administration. A National Black Achievement in Industry award winner, he also completed the Executive Magazine Publishing Program at Howard University, Washington, D.C.
Jamie Adams joined Mspark in October 2016 as Chief Information Officer with responsibility for the Company’s Information Technology (IT) group, including application development, business intelligence, and IT operations, as well as the ongoing development and implementation of strategic IT plans and programs.
Jamie has 17 years of experience in leveraging technology to grow business results. Prior to Mspark, she was Chief Information Officer at The Cliffs, a private equity-backed company sponsored by Arendale Holdings Corp., a diversified real estate investment and development organization. Jamie began her career at Michelin Corp. (NYSE Euronext: ML), Greenville, S.C., where she spent 12 years in various roles of increasing responsibility culminating in Director, Software Product Management – Michelin Retread Technologies. As part of the executive teams at The Cliffs and Michelin Corp., Jamie led the development of strategies and programs to transform IT from merely a support function to a business partner, which involved creating business value, navigating business change, optimizing IT investments, transforming IT capabilities, and delivering technology with confidence to protect the business and minimize disruption impact.
Jamie was recognized by IDG/Computerworld as a “2016 Premier 100 IT Leader” as part of their Premier 100 Awards Program showcasing the strategic thinking of an elite group of technology leaders who utilize technology in innovative ways to achieve the mission and vision of the organizations for which they work. She holds an MBA from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Georgia, Athens, Ga.
Steve Laney has served Mspark as Vice President, Operations, since November 2015 and has responsibility for the company’s three distribution facilities, as well as its technical equipment, postal affairs, pre-press, delivery services, and facility maintenance functions.
Since joining Mspark in 2007, he has held various operations management positions, including his prior role as Corporate Operations Manager.
Prior to Mspark, Steve worked 12 years at Brentwood, Tenn.,-based American Color Graphics, first as Technical Services Project Manager, then as Operations Manager and, finally, as Plant Manager. He also spent two years as Production Manager at Darby Printing Co., Atlanta, Ga., and almost 10 years in plant management, materials and quality assurance, press operations and inventory control positions at Istasca, Ill.,-based Ringier America. Altogether, Steve has more than 35 years of professional experience across all aspects of operations and printing. He is a cum laude graduate of Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Ark., with a Bachelor of Science degree in printing management.
Anna Marie Chapman
Anna Marie Chapman joined Mspark in March 2017 as Vice President, Human Resources, with 25 years of progressive human resources experience, including recruiting, talent development and retention, strategic HR planning and execution, associate benefits planning and administration, and safety and risk management.
Prior to Mspark, she served as Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Administration, at The McPherson Companies in Birmingham, Ala. She also held senior-level human resources roles with Saks, Inc., also in Birmingham, and Mercantile Stores Company in Pensacola, Fla.
Anna Marie is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Birmingham Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM). She also serves on the Board of the Helena Belles, a service organization that helps young women get involved in the local community. Anna Marie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
Prior to Mspark, Albert was President and Co-Founder of CAP Media, Inc., from 1997 until CAP Media’s acquisition by MailSouth (now Mspark) in August 2005. In 1989, he founded and became President of Image Checks, Inc., which was sold in 1997 to Toronto-based MDC Communications after becoming the fourth largest direct-to-consumer check printing company in the United States. Throughout his career, Albert has been involved in the ownership and formation of companies across many industry sectors, including direct response marketing, publishing, technology, real estate, temporary staffing and craft beer.
